Removal, check of a condition and installation of rocker arm assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the cylinder head cover (see. Section Removal and installation of the cylinder head covers).

2. Moving from the ends toward the middle, two or three steps, loosen the bolts axes rocker.

Part of the valves by loosening fasteners axes rocker would remain open, as a consequence, the axis will be exposed to the forces developed by valve springs, and a sharp releasing fixing screws may deform the components.

3. Before removal of the rocker arm assembly of the engine should be clearly labeled.

4. Remove loose mounting bolts and remove the turn of the head assembly axes rockers. Place the removed assembly bench, placing them just as they were installed in the engine. When assembling all the axes should be established strictly on the former places in the cylinder heads. Note that the axis of the deep samplings set by the inlet conduit, with fine - with hand exhaust manifolds.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. After removing the rocker arm assembly, it is reasonable to analyze them with a view to a more detailed study of the state of the components. Thoroughly clean the parts and check them for signs of wear or damage. Assess the contact surfaces with a camshaft rockers. Check for signs of scoring and excessive wear on the surface of the landing rockers on the axes, as well as wall mounting holes themselves rocker. Defective components must be replaced.

2. Measure the outside diameters of the necks axes rocker. Record measurements and compare them with the requirements of the Specifications.

3. Measure the inner bore hole rocker. Also, compare the results with the requirements of the Specifications.

4. By subtracting the results of the first results of the second measurement, determine the amount of landing clearances rockers on the axes. Compare the results of calculations to requirements of Specifications. If necessary, replace excessively worn components.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is in the reverse order. Tightening bolts axes rocker with demanded effort should be made in several steps in the direction of all assemblies to their centers.
