Removal and installation of camshafts and valve lifters
| 1. Remove the cylinder head cover (see. Section Removal and installation of the cylinder head covers) and remove the rocker assembly with the axes (see. Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of rocker arm assembly). | 2. To fix the pushers in their guide, they put on rubber tires. | Accidentally dropped pushers immediately return into the appropriate slots of the guide assembly. |
|
| 3. Remove the assembly guide of pushers. |
4. Alternately, remove the tappets from their nests in the guide and put them in an organized manner - with each plunger assembly must be installed strictly to its original location. | To avoid air pockets, try not to put jacks on the side and not to turn them upside down. Alternatively, the pushers should be put in clean motor oil-filled container. |
5. refuel pusher in its receiving hole, sinking extending from its upper end of the plunger. If the stroke of the plunger exceeds 1 mm, it means that there is air in the plunger. 6. If there is a suspicion of getting into the air pusher replace the rocker arm assembly with the axes and the cylinder head cover. 7. To remove air from the pushers start the engine at 1000 r / min and let it run without load for about 10 minutes. 8. Again, remove the cylinder head cover and remove the rocker assembly with the axes and repeat the procedure described in paragraph 5. If you remove the air from the pusher fails, replace it with a new one. 9. Estimate degree of deterioration of the engine taken from the pushers (see. Some of total overhaul of the engine in this chapter). 10. Install in the reverse order, remember before boarding the motor oil to lubricate the tappets. |
|
Camshafts REMOVAL | 1. Remove the engine cylinder head (see. Section Removal and installation of the cylinder head). | 2. Remove the retaining screws and gently prying, remove the side facing the transmission end cover plate head camshaft. |
| 3. Hold the flats of the shaft from turning, release the bolt of its fastening. Remove the bolt and remove the thrust plate. |
| 4. Gently prying with a small screwdriver, remove the camshaft oil seal from its landing nest, - try not to damage the pin. | Squeezing the shaft through the hole in the thrust plate would facilitate the extraction of the gland. |
|
| 5. Gently holding the shaft at both ends and making a rotational motion, remove it from the cylinder head. | Try to avoid damage to the bearings and cam shaft. Description of the procedures for verification of the state of the shaft and its bearings is given in Part Engines DOHC this Chapter. |

|
INSTALLATION | 1. Grease the bearing shaft neck molybdenum-containing lubricant, and then carefully thread the assembly on the regular place in the cylinder head, - try not to damage the bearing surfaces. 2. Install the thrust plate of the camshaft, tighten the rear bolt and tighten it with demanded effort. 3. Install the shaft in the cylinder head, measure the value of its axial clearance (see. Some of total overhaul of the engine in this chapter). | 4. If the shaft end play is out of tolerance, you should choose a new thrust plate. Measure the thickness of the old plate and pick up new reasons to bring axial play of the shaft to normal. |
5. Install the new camshaft oil seal. Further assembly of the cylinder head is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components. Installation procedures described in Section head Removing and installing cylinder head. |

Replacement seals camshafts
| 1. Replace camshaft seals can be done without dismantling the latter. It will be enough to remove a belt gas distribution and related timing gears. Removing the old seals produced by poddevaniya screwdriver, - try not to damage the trunnion shafts. | 2. Planting seals made using a special mandrel as may be used which the head end of the appropriate size or length of tubing of suitable diameter. Gland has to be put in its nest strictly perpendicular. Continue to press-fit the gland until it abuts the bottom of the slot in the body of the cylinder head. |
