Check and replacement of hoses of an impellent compartment, localization of leaks

Replacing communication lines air conditioning system should be carried out by a workshop or a specialist workshop which has the equipment for the safe depressurization of the system. In no case do not disconnect the hoses and remove its components without first depressurized!

general information

Exposure to high temperatures in the engine compartment results in a gradual failure of rubber and plastic hoses used in various systems. Should regularly check the hoses for cracks, loose clamps, curing materials and signs of leaks.

Additional information about the hose systems, braking and engine cooling See Sections Lubrication universal joints, drive shafts and Check brake system components respectively.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To fix most of the hose clamps used on the fittings - check the reliability of their tightening, ensure proper sealing fit hose. In some cases, fastening the hose clamps are not provided, - make sure that the hose fitting to the landing site is not swollen and / or hardened, preventing leakage.
  2. In case of signs of leaks of any of the working fluid, the origin of which identify fails, beneath a parked car a large sheet of cardboard and after quite a long time to study its condition, - the color and location of the sag can with high probability to determine the nature and location of the leak .

Vacuum hoses

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Usually vacuum hoses, especially used in systems reduce emissions, easily distinguished by the bright color markings. Different systems use pipes with different wall thickness, thermal stability and resistance to a collapse, - the replacement of the hoses, make sure that the new hose to match the size and performance of the failed.
  2. Often, the only reliable way to assess the condition of the hose is to remove it from the car. When removing more than one hose take care of the application of clear labeling, ensuring the uniqueness of their connection when installed in place.
  3. When checking the vacuum hoses do not forget to evaluate the state of the T-shaped plastic compression fittings, inspecting them for the presence of leaks can cause the development of cracks.
  4. Remember that the uneven deformation of the hose when planting it on the nipple can cause the development of the loss of vacuum.
  5. By leakage is meant in the vacuum lines which in fact being sucked air, i.e., air is sucked into the hose, and goes out of it, which greatly complicates the process of localization of the defective portion. In order to identify a violation of integrity at the hearing, you can use a stethoscope as a small segment of the vacuum hose. When running at engine idle speed listen to all vacuum hoses and their connections connections for evidence of the presence of leakage characteristic hissing, - try not to burn yourself on the hot surface of the power unit and do not touch the moving parts in the engine compartment (fan impeller, belts, etc. .P.).

Fuel hoses

When inspecting or servicing fuel system components must comply with certain precautions. All work is performed in a well ventilated place, do not approach the work area open flame (eg lighted cigarettes) or unprotected perenosok shade. Spilled fuel immediately collect rags, then folding it in a place where the impossibility of self-ignition is guaranteed. At fuel hit on open sites of a body immediately rinse it off with plenty of water and soap. Do not forget to wear safety goggles, always keep a fire extinguisher!

The fuel in the path of the power supply system is usually under pressure, so if you disconnect the hoses take action against splash of fuel.

Before proceeding to the maintenance of components of the fuel path, it is necessary to relieve the pressure in the fuel injection system!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check all rubber fuel hoses for signs of wear and tear. Pay special attention to areas of twists and adjacency to the choke terminals (fuel pump, filter, and so forth.).
  2. Use only high-quality fuel hoses. Do not, under any circumstances, use as fuel, not reinforced vacuum hoses, clear plastic tube or hose cooling path.
  3. To fix the fuel hose on unions commonly used clamps belt type, a tightening force that weakens with time, with the risk of "coming off" the yoke when removing, - Be careful. When replacing the hose clamp it is wise to replace the worm. Either screw.
  4. At the initial stage of the localization of leaks in the path of the power system it is difficult to implement task - Fuel tends to evaporate quickly when exposed to air, especially in a heated space of the engine compartment. If you suspect the presence of fuel leaks in the engine compartment, allow the engine to cool completely, then run it and inspect all available fuel, - compression of metal fittings on cooling results in fainting fit on their rubber hoses, which leads to an increase in the intensity and - as a consequence - facilitation of localization of leaks occurring.

Metal line path of brake system and power supply system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. In the sections of the working path of power between the fuel pump and injection system are often inserted metal tubes, which are also carefully inspected, tested for the presence of deformations, twists, cracks and other mechanical damages.
  2. To replace defective sections use only seamless steel pipe - copper and aluminum tubes do not provide adequate resistance to vibrations arising during operation of the engine.
  3. Check metal brake lines in places of their connection to the GTZ, the pressure regulator or hydromodulator ABS (with appropriate equipment) for cracks and signs of weakening compression fittings. Identify any signs of brake fluid leaks requires immediate comprehensive examination of the entire brake system.

Hydrostrengthening steering hoses

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check steering hoses hydrostrengthening for signs of fluid leakage, reduce wear compression fittings and pipe straps. Defective components replace.

Coolant hoses

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Leaks in cooling system are usually found in areas of the education of leakage plaque white or red-brown color.
  2. Carefully inspect the radiator and the cooling surface of the hose path along their entire length. Defective components replace.

Cracks are detected more easily when squeezing the hose. Pay special attention to the condition and tightening hose clip for connecting pipe elements of the cooling system. Dragging clips associated with risk of cuts and tears hoses.
