Check the condition and reliability of fastening components chassis, suspension and steering gear
| - Worn or damaged suspension components, or steering gear may indicate symptoms such as excessive swinging of the car when driving on rough roads or during cornering, the loss of directional stability, increased vibration, jamming the steering wheel, etc.
- To assess the state of the shock absorbers press down one of the corners of the car - when you release the angle of the body should be returned to its original position, making no more than one or two oscillations. Listen to the creaking and other extraneous noises, published in the suspension oscillating movements of the body. Excessive amounts of swinging body when releasing the pressed corner, as well as the refusal to return to its original position, indicate the need to replace the shock absorbers. Operating in a similar manner, serially check each of the four shock absorbers.
- Post the car off the ground.
- Inspect the frame and suspension components for signs of deformation and other mechanical damage.
- Check the tightening of fixture.
 | All self-locking fasteners be replaced after releasing mandatory! |
- Grasp the lower edge of the wheel and tug it back and forth - the presence of backlash brake board regarding the control arm, indicates excessive wear of the ball. Grasp the end of the arm and tug it up and down - the presence of the backlash relative to the knuckle arm and points to the need for a thorough check the status of the ball joint, - acting in a similar manner to vote the state of both ball joints each knuckle. Visually assess the state of anther ball bearings. In case of need make replacement - after replacing the ball bearings do not forget to drive away the car in a specialized workshop for checking / adjusting the wheel alignment.
 | Replace ball bearings better in the kit. |
- Estimate degree of deterioration of rubber suspension components and steering gear. Ask the assistant rotating the steering wheel and visually assess the amount of movement of the steering actuator. Try to identify the cause of having a place of weakness, make necessary regenerative repair or replace the defective components.
- Manually turning the front wheels, try listening to determine the state of wheel bearings, make sure that there is no play in the wheel speed. Grasp the tire at the points 12 and 6 hours, and tug it to the axial plane, - the presence of any significant free wheeling testifies to the weakening of preload wheel bearings.
