Replacing the motor oil and oil filter

Prolonged skin contact with used motor oil is dangerous. Use a sunscreen or wear rubber gloves during the procedure described below.

Frequent replacement of motor oil is the main preventive maintenance procedures available amateur mechanics. Over time, the oil is subject to dilution and contamination, leading to premature wear.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props or pound on a viewing hole / overpass.
  3. Start by opening the drain sump container volume of 10 liters for the collection of waste oil.
  1. Wear protective rubber gloves, remove the drain plug and drain engine oil into the prepared container, adjusting the position of the latter as weakening the pressure of the jet.
  1. Check the state of the waste oil, - if it contains metal particles, it indicates the presence of burrs, for example, in bearings of the crankshaft. In order to avoid complications after reconditioning the engine should be thoroughly cleaned all maslotoki lubrication system.

  1. Using a special puller remove the oil filter and O-ring, which may remain adhered to the mounting surface casing.
  1. Clean the filter mating surface of the crankcase with a clean cloth.
  2. Lightly oil a clean new O-ring and put him on the new filter.
  1. On petrol models screw oil in the feed opening of the engine so that the O-ring is pressed against the mating surface of the block, then tighten it a further 420 ? (1 and 1/6 turns). On diesel models, tighten the filter by hand until it stops, then tighten its clamping key for another 2/3 turn, the effort of a tightening of the filter should be about 19.6 ÷ 24.5 Nm.
  1. Replacing the washer, screw the drain plug and tighten it with demanded effort (30 ÷ 35 Nm).
  2. Fill with fresh engine oil grades required (see. Section Checking the oil level).
  3. Wait about 5 minutes, then check the oil level and, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment.
  4. A short test drive, make sure there are no signs of oil leakage through the sump drain plug and place seam filter sump. If necessary, tighten loosely planted an item, then recheck the oil level and, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment.
