Checking the condition of tires and pressure of their rating, the rotation of the wheels

Regular inspection of the tires to avoid the troubles connected with stops along the way because of a flat tire. In addition, such tests provide valuable information about possible problems with the components of the steering gear and suspension until the occurrence of visiting them serious damage.

At a sports manner of driving it is recommended to increase the pressure in the front and rear tires to 0.2 bar, based on the basic values.

Tires can be equipped with built-in tread wear indicators in the form of colored stripes outcropping while reducing tread depth to 1.6 mm - this value is the minimum acceptable, in most cases, it is recommended to replace the tire tread depth is less than 2 mm. Tread depth is always possible to define a simple and inexpensive device, known as a tread depth gauge.

Look for signs of uneven tread wear. Defects such as cavities, swelling, flattening and one-sided wear disclose a violation of the axle or the wheel assembly imbalance, - Drive to the station adjustment of disorder-convergence.

Carefully check the tires for cuts, punctures and got stuck nails or buttons. Sometimes, after a puncture nail it still some time holds pressure or begins to bleed the air very slowly. If you suspect the presence of such "slow puncture" should first check the tightness of the pump wheel pin, then carefully inspect the tread for the presence of foreign objects trapped and eliminated earlier and again gave "flow" of damage. Ensure the presence of a puncture can moisten the suspected site with soap and water - a sign of the air outlet will be its bubbling. If the puncture is not too big bus can usually be restored to any tire shop.

Carefully examine internal lateral surfaces of tires on presence on them of signs of brake fluid leaks - if any, immediately check the condition of the brakes.

Remember that maintaining proper tire pressure increases their service life, saves fuel and improves the overall ride comfort. To check the pressure you need a special gauge.

Always check the pressure on cold tires, otherwise the measuring result will be overstated due to the thermal expansion of the air.

To check the tire inflation pressure, remove the protective cap from the pin, and then firmly press the nozzle of the pump to the valve and read pressure gauge readings. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head Current leaving and service. Do not forget to put in place a protective cap to prevent ingress of the nipple in the dirt and moisture. Check the pressure in all tires, including the spare. If necessary, make the appropriate adjustments.

Do not trust the testimony of pressure gauges, connected to the pumping stations at the gas station.

Examples of typical wear of tire treads

One-sided wear

Insufficient pressure in the tire causes its overheating due to excessive movement during deflection, whereby the tread is not sufficiently pressed against the surface of the road. This leads to a loss of grip and excessive wear of the tread, not to mention the danger of leaving tire failure due to overheating. Check and adjust the pressure.

Violation of camber adjustment can also lead to one-sided tread wear - replace defective components of the suspension / steering gear, adjust camber.

Another reason for this deterioration can be too sharp cornering - change the style of driving.

Central wear

Excessive tire pressure leads to accelerated wear of the central part of the tread, reduced grip, tighter traffic and increase the danger of fatal damage to the ramp - check and adjust the pressure. If the tires were pumped up for the transport of heavy loads, do not forget to return to normal operation once the air bleed.

Uneven wear

Front tire may wear unevenly as a result of violations of the wheels, - check, replace defective components Suspension / Steering, make the necessary adjustments.

Another cause of this kind of wear can be a violation of wheel balancing, - to drive away the car tire shops.

Obtrepannost edges of the tread pattern is a sign of wear and tear, it is best detected by touch.

The rotation of the wheels

The rotation of the wheels should be done every 12 000 km (7500 miles). When the rotation of the wheels do not forget to check the condition of the tires and, if necessary, replace them.
