Check the bearing hub



A sign of failure of the bearing hub is an unusual noise when driving, starting only at a certain (high) speed.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Release the handbrake.
  2. Raise the rear of the vehicle.
  1. Check the hub bearing play by pulling and pressing the wheel on the front and back sides. There should be no noticeable backlash.
  1. Turn the wheel by hand. The bearing should rotate easily and evenly, while there should be no audible noise from the rotation.
  1. In workshops axial play is measured with a dial gauge when removing the rear wheel on the brake drum. The bearing clearance must not have more than 0.05 mm, otherwise it must be adjusted or replaced.
