Removing and installing the hub



Cars since 10/89 vol. (not AWD), except models "versatile"

Bearing in vehicles with 10/89 issue is the hub upon which the brake drum or brake disc. For installation requires a special bearing puller or a press, so it is advisable to make the removal of the hub bearing and the installation of a new specialist workshop.

Withdrawal

2 - hub cap
3 - the hub nut

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the hub cap using a screwdriver or pliers.
  2. Loosen hub nut standing on the ground of the car.

Big torque, the risk of an accident!

  1. Remove the brake drum or disc, see chap. Brakes.
  2. Remove the hub from a pin and replace the bearing in a specialized workshop.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fit and screw the new hub caulking nut without tightening it definitively.
  2. Install the brake drum or brake disc caliper, see chap. Brakes.
  3. Screw the wheel, taking into account the mark on the hub. Lower the car and tighten the wheel nuts with 100 Nm of torque.
  4. Tighten the hub nut with a force of 200 Nm.
  5. To hammer in a nut fillet into a nave groove pins are not very sharp chisel. This serves to protect against loosening nut.
  6. Score the new hub cap using a tube.

Deformed caps necessarily replaced because of a leak in the bearing can get the moisture and destroy it in the short term.
