Removing and installing control arm / replacement of a rubber support



Since the tightening rubber mounts car should stand on wheels, you need a lift or a platform or a viewing hole.

Withdrawal

1 - nut stabilizer

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Mark the position of the disc relative to the wheel hub to balance the wheel can be installed in the same position.
  2. Loosen the nut of the front wheels of the car standing on the ground.
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Remove the front wheels.
  5. Loosen the stabilizer support to the wishbone, which unscrew the nut and remove the bolt -1- -3- to intermediate elements -2-. On vehicles to 9/89 MY. and all models of "universal" bolt in contrast image is set from the top down.
  6. -4- Unscrew a bolt on the front of the support arm.
  7. Loosen the clamp at the rear of the support arm (bolt -5-).
  8. Loosen the nut -6, -6 to remove the bolt on the knuckle. Remove the pin of the ball joint from the steering knuckle down and remove the lever.

If the pin of the ball joint can not be removed by hand, insert a pry bar between the hinge and swivel. Without damaging the collar joint, put a rag.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the wear of bearings and knuckle arm and replace if necessary. See Chapter Checking / replacing the support arm / knuckle.
  2. Insert the wishbone on the body and the knuckle, tighten bolts and nuts by hand until tightening.
  3. Screw the regulator, without tightening the screws completely.
  4. Screw the wheel, given labels put at removal. Lower the car and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise with torque of 100 Nm.
  5. Several times to swing the car settled to wheel suspension.
  1. Models up to 9/89 MY. and models of "universal": Screw the nut stabilizer until the length of serving thread becomes equal to 10.8 mm.
  1. Models with a 10/89 vol., Except for "universal": Screw the nut stabilizer until the protruding length of the thread will not be in the range 17 - 19 mm.
  1. Tighten the front and rear support arm with a force of 110 Nm, the bolt on the steering knuckle with a force of 60 Nm.
  2. As soon as possible to measure the angles of the wheels in the workshop.
