Removal and installation of the cylinder head covers



PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!


Cover the front of the cylinder head

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the vent hose and cover the coil assemblies.

2. Remove the ignition coil (see chap. Electric motor).

3. Acting in the reverse order shown in the illustration, turn the screws cylinder head cover.

4. Remove the cover.

To separate the "become attached" Tap the cover it with a hammer through a wooden block. In no case do not cover lever to hook a mating surface!


Cover the back of the cylinder head

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the upper section of the inlet pipeline (pressure chamber) (see. Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
2. Remove the back cover of the ignition coil assembly (see chap. Electric motor).
3. Release retaining clips, remove the cover from the air hoses.
4. Disconnect the PCV hose and wiring, which prevents removal of the cover.

5. Acting in the reverse order shown in the illustration, turn the screws cylinder head cover.

6. Remove the cover.

INSTALLATION

Both covers

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The mating surface of the cylinder heads and lids have to be absolutely clean and dry. Use the scraper to remove all traces of old sealant and fragments of shattered gaskets, then wipe the surface with a cloth soaked in acetone. Presence on the mating surfaces of traces of oil can lead to leaks.
2. If necessary, banish a carving of fixing bolts suitable Lerke restoring damaged coils and removing rust and traces of the old sealant. Taps Run the appropriate size screw holes in the head.

3. Check the condition of the planted in the cylinder head cover sealing washers guide tubes spark plugs, in case of need make replacement.

4. Fill in the groove on the mating surface of the cover sealant RTV, as apply sealant to the corners of the joints of the front cover with a lid bearing camshaft. Place sealant on top of a new gasket. Allow the sealant to dry a little and thereby fix the gasket on the cover.
5. Gently press the cover to the cylinder head and screw the mounting bolts.

6. Moving in strict order, in three or four stages tighten bolts with demanded effort.

7. The further assembly is done in reverse order of dismantle of components.
8. Start the engine and check for any signs of leaks.
