Removing and installing sump

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Cock a lay brake and prop chock rear wheels.
3. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
4. Remove the protection crankcase and the right cover.
5. Remove the front exhaust pipe exhaust system (see chap. The power supply system and release).
6. Drain the engine oil (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).

7. Oil sump consists of two sections. Lower steel stamped cover is attached to the upper section of aluminum, which in turn pribolchena to the engine block. Moving in the reverse order shown in the illustration, turn out fixing bolts and remove the bottom section of the pallet stamped. To avoid loss of sealing mating components is not to hook the lever under the cover gasket face!

8. Remove the air conditioning compressor (see chap. System of cooling, heating) and slide it to the side without disconnecting the refrigerator line. Remove the mounting bracket of the support arm of the compressor to the pallet.

9. Post the motor on top using winches or beams.

Take care of reliability of fixing the unit in a raised position.

10. Remove the bolts through the front and rear supports of the power unit and suspension bolts crossbar. Remove the beam from the vehicle assembly with supports. Remove the oil filter.

11. Remove the screws to the aluminum section of the pallet plate and the rear cover of the dome of the transmission.

12. Moving from the edges toward the center in the reverse order tightening the bolts, remove the upper section of the aluminum pan to the engine block.

13. In order to separate the aluminum section of the pallet from the unit under pry its front side provided with a groove in the molding. Try not to damage interfaced surfaces.

1. Clean the mating surface of the aluminum section of the pallet and the engine block, completely removing them from the traces of the old gasket material and sealant. Wipe the stripped surface with a cloth soaked in acetone.

To prevent leakage of try not to damage the mating surfaces in the process of stripping.

2. Make sure of absoluteness of cleanliness of threaded holes in the engine block and aluminum section of the pallet, - if necessary, drive them tap the appropriate size.
3. Apply RTV sealant ends gasket front timing cover, and then lay the pads on aluminum section of the pallet. The same sealing grease boarding aluminum flange section.

The pallet must be installed on the engine for 15 minutes after application of the sealant.

4. Establish into place on the front of the motor housing and oil pump new O-rings.

5. Trying not to break the hermetic pillow, gently push the aluminum section of the pallet to the block. Screw fixing bolts and acting in strict order, tighten them in three to four reception with demanded effort.

6. Screw the bolts back cover plate and dome of transmission.
7. Check the flange of the bottom section pressed tray for signs of strain, with emphasis on the state of the flange around the fixing holes. If necessary otrihtuyte flange, placing it on a flat wooden block.

8 .Nalozhite on the mating surface of the flange of the pallet pillow RTV sealant and install sump engine. The pallet must be set within 15 minutes after application of the sealant. Operating in strictly certain order, tighten the bolts of the pallet with the required effort.

9. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components.
10. Allow the sealant to dry for about 30 minutes, and then install a new oil filter and fill the unit fresh engine oil. Start the engine and check the pressure of motor oil. Make sure there are no leaks.
