REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Support the rear wheels of a vehicle wheel chock. Cock a lay brake.
3. Loosen the nuts of the right front wheel, then Poddomkratte the front of the car and establish it on props. Remove the wheel.
4. Remove the protection crankcase and locker protect the arch of the right front wheel.
5. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system (see chap. The power supply system and release). Drain the cooling system (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).
6. Remove the upper section of the inlet pipeline (pressure chamber) (see. Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline) and the cylinder head cover (see. Section Removal and installation of the cylinder head covers).
7. Remove the spark plug (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance). Bring the piston of the first cylinder in position TDC (see. Section Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in position of the top dead center (TDC)).
8. Remove the drive belts (see. Chapter Settings and maintenance) and intermediate bracket roller.
9. Remove the steering pump bracket (see chap. Suspension and steering).
10. Remove the air conditioning compressor (see chap. System of cooling, heating).
11. Remove the crankshaft pulley (see. Section Removal and installation of the crankshaft pulley).

Keep cranking during the removal of a pulley, - the engine must remain at TDC of first cylinder.

12. Disconnect the wiring from the oxygen sensor, then separate front pipe exhaust system from the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter (see chap. The power supply system and release).
13. Post the power unit on top of the winch or beam.

Take care of reliability of fastening of the unit!

14. Remove the bolts through the front and rear suspension supports the power unit and remove the crossmember from the vehicle assembly with supports attached to it (see. Section Check and replacement of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit).
15. Remove an arm of the compressor K / V and the upper and lower sections of the oil pan (see. Section Removal and installation of the sump).
16. After the top, remove the right support suspension unit (see. Section Check and replacement of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit).
17. Remove the cover of a chain camshaft position sensor (see chap. Engine management).

18. Release the cable harness from the bracket on the top cover of the gas distribution chain. Operating in reverse order shown in the illustration, remove the front cover bolts. Please note that for the cover fixing screws are used in different sizes that the assembly should be established strictly on the former places, - if necessary, make appropriate marking.

19. At this engine (DOHC, 3.0 liter) gas distribution required is provided by the three chains. Main chain sprocket is fitted on the crankshaft, the water pump and the two intake camshafts and serves for actuating the valve operation mechanism in accordance with the rotation phase of the crankshaft and movement of piston. Two secondary gas distribution chain put into separate intake camshaft sprocket and sprocket shafts, and exhaust serve to synchronize the drive of the intake and exhaust valves. Remove the front cover of the gas distribution chain, and again make sure that the first cylinder is in the TDC at the correct location of adjusting labels on asterisks of distributive and cranked shaft relative colored chain links.

20. To loosen the tension main gas distribution chain tensioner, remove it, and his arm / chain guide.

21. Remove the bolts of the upper chain guide and bolts of asterisks of the main chain of the intake camshafts.

22. Remove the asterisk from the main circuit pins of the inlet camshaft.

When installing an asterisk should be planted on the former ramparts, - apply appropriate marking.

23. Press tensioning secondary circuits and block them by introducing the locking pins in the special holes.

24. Remove the bolts Stars secondary circuits exhaust camshafts. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting labels, and then remove the two secondary circuits with asterisks.

Asterisks secondary circuits inlet and exhaust camshafts are different in thickness and the assembly should be established strictly on the former places, - apply appropriate marking.

25. Remove the crankshaft sprocket and the bottom rail of the main circuit.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Inspect the camshaft sprocket, water pump and crankshaft for signs of wear of the teeth and keyways, chain - for cracks and wear rollers. Estimate a condition of working surfaces of the guide chain.

To access the bolt of the secondary circuit of the neck of the corresponding camshaft [Cover respective camshaft bearing] should be removed from his head to provide access to the mounting bolts.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the crankshaft sprocket and the bottom rail of the main circuit (mark-up).

2. Make sure the frame size requirements of the new chains prepared engine of your car - compare with the old. Make according to the location of the colored links.
3. If removed tensioners secondary circuits, put them into place, having tracked correctness fixing springs. Put a pin on the camshaft assembly of secondary circuits with asterisks, - track correctness of combination of adjusting Meto. Tighten with demanded effort bolts stars exhaust shafts.
4. Remove the locking pins from the tensioner assembly of secondary circuits.
5. The correct position the colored links relative labels on asterisks, prepare to install the main gas distribution chain.
6. Throwing the chain on the crankshaft sprocket and water pump, place it in the collection of the remaining stars on the engine. Track correctness of combination of light chain link with the mark on the crankshaft sprocket.
7. Install the upper rail of the main circuit.
8. Install the tensioner arm of the main chain / chain guide. Make sure that the first cylinder is still in the position of TDC, and the colored links in the chain are not knocked down with respect to marks on the sprockets.
9. Remove all traces of old sealant from the front timing cover and bolts of its fastening.
10. Put on the lid of the fresh sealant RTV. Replace the cover on the motor, screw the mounting bolts on the former places. Moving in strict order, tighten fixture with demanded effort.

11. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components.
