Checking the oil in a mechanical transmission



Location filler transmission stoppers on models with engines 1,4 / 1,6-I

Location filler transmission stoppers on models with engines 1,8 / 2,3-I

Oil in a mechanical box should not be changed.

To loosen the oil filler plug screw must use a key with a face head of 17 mm.

To top up the oil you must use SAE 75W90 specifications G50.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Place the vehicle on a lift in a horizontal position.
2. Remove the bottom mudguard of the engine.
3. Remove the oil filler plug of the gearbox, which is located in front of the left drive shaft.
4. Check the oil level. The oil level is correct when it is at the lower edge of the threaded hole.
5. If necessary, add oil through the oil-filling hole.
6. Tighten the oil filler plug and tighten it to 25 Nm.

A warning

Gearbox housing may be made of aluminum or magnesium alloy. If the new threaded oil filler plug, it must be matched to the number for the corresponding transmission as stoppers have a different cover. If you use an inappropriate stopper may contact corrosion.
