Checking the oil level in the main transmission lever

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Place the vehicle on a lift in a horizontal position.
2. Unscrew and remove the drive mechanism of the speedometer, and wipe it with a clean cloth.
3. Insert the speedometer drive gear in place in the gearbox and pull it out again. Check the oil level in the main transmission, which should be between MIN and MAX marks on the mechanism of the speedometer.
4. If necessary, add oil required specification. The quantity of oil between MIN and MAX marks is 0.1 liter. If the oil level is higher than normal, pump out the excess oil using a syringe with a straw.
5. Replace the transmission mechanism of the speedometer, and tighten it.

A warning

If the test level in the main transmission gearbox found that the oil in the main transmission is too much or too little, the oil is exchanged with a planetary gearbox. In this case, you need to consult a technical service VW for troubleshooting.
