Checking the ATF of automatic transmission

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Correctness of level ATF is one of critical operational parameters of the models equipped with the AT. Lowering the level of ATF can lead to slippage of the converter of rotation, whereas an excessive amount of liquid leads to its expandability, the formation of leaks and fraught with transmission failure.
2. Check of level ATF should be made when heated to normal operating temperature of the transmission (16 ÷ 20 kilometers, 72 ÷ 80 ? C).

Do not make check of level ATF immediately after the operation of the vehicle at high speeds, in city cycle in hot weather or when towing a trailer - pre-let the liquid cool for about 30 minutes. Park the car on level ground with a hard surface, firmly cock a lay brake. If the engine is cold, start it and warm up at idle. With the engine running depress the brake pedal and turn the selector lever AT swipe through all the provisions in the conclusion of his returning to "P".

3. Do not turn off the engine, remove the dipstick guide tube. Use your fingers to remove the blade probe traces ATF and feel to vote her condition.

4. Wipe the blade with a clean cloth and enter the probe back into directing tube, densely planted cover the neck.

5. Again, remove the dipstick from the neck and the largest portion of the wetted blade determine the ATF level in transmission housing. In case of need make corresponding updating, having added through a funnel into the transmission fluid is required grades - ATF pour directly into the throat of the guide tube of the probe.

6. For lifting of level ATF from the bottom of the operating range of the probe up to the top takes about 0.6 liters of liquid - pouring produce small amounts in several stages, each time checking the level.
7. At the same time the level should be checked and the condition as ATF. If the liquid, wetting the blade end of the probe has a dark reddish-brown color, or smell of burning, ATF should be replaced (see. Section Replacement ATF automatic transmission and final drive). In the absence of confidence in the condition assessment of the transmission fluid compare its color and smell with fresh ATF.
