General information on options and adjustments
Under the title "Settings" in this manual is meant not individual adjustment procedure any of the parameters of the car's systems, and a whole range of regulations that will ensure the maximum efficiency of return of the engine.
If the owner of a new car after its purchase strictly adhere to the schedule of procedures of routine maintenance (see. Section routine maintenance schedule Car Nissan Maxima), often carried out checks critical parameters to maintain the required level of lubricating fluids, the engine rarely will require the implementation of additional services and reductive repair (replacement over exposed to increased wear of components and consumables).
On the other hand, in the case of neglect to perform regular maintenance procedures and frequent violations of the deadlines of the checks, the effectiveness of return of the engine sooner or later fall. Particularly high probability of such a situation, in case of purchase of used cars. In such cases there is a need to perform complex configuration of the power unit in excess of the amount of work for the current maintenance of the car.
The first step in configuring or troubleshooting working with low-impact engine always check the compression pressure in the cylinders (see. Part of the total overhaul of the engine the Head of engine), the analysis of which allows you to assess the overall state of internal engine components and to plan future regulation and / or restoration works. For example, if the compression pressure check revealed signs of a serious internal engine wear, the usual set of settings will not be enough to remedy the situation and his conduct will be a waste of time and money. In view of the value of the information obtained as a result of the compression pressure check, its implementation should be entrusted with enough experienced and qualified mechanics equipped with adequate diagnostic devices.
The following lists the basic setup procedures to maximize the effectiveness of the impact of in proper mechanical condition of the engine.
List the minimum set of checks and adjustments
? Check all levels related to the operation of the engine fluids (see. Section Check of levels of liquids). ? Clean and check the battery status (see. Section Inspection, maintenance and charge the battery). ? Check the condition and the tension of drive belts, if necessary, make the necessary adjustments (see. Section Condition check, adjustment of effort of a tension and replacement drive a belt). ? Check all located in the engine compartment hoses (see. Section Checking and replacing located in the engine compartment hoses). ? Inspect the condition and maintenance of the components of the cooling system (see. Section Checking the status of the components of the cooling system). ? Check the condition of the air filter element (see. Section Replacement of a filtering element of an air cleaner). ? Check the condition of spark plugs and on the models 1993 and 1994 vol., the distributor cap and the slider (see. Section Checking and replacing the explosives candle wires, distributor cap and slider). ? Check the wires of explosives (see. Section Checking and replacing the explosives candle wires, distributor cap and slider). The list of the full range of checks and adjustments
In addition to the above checks:
? Check the condition of the charge (see chap. Electric motor). ? Check the operation and condition of the components of the power supply system (See. Section Checking the status of the power system components). ? Make replacement of the air filter element (see. Section Replacement of a filtering element of an air cleaner). ? Make replacement explosives candle wires (see. Section Checking and replacing the explosives candle wires, distributor cap and slider). ? Make replacement of the cover and the runner distributor of ignition - models 1993 and 1994 Vol. (see. Section Checking and replacing the explosives candle wires, distributor cap and slider). ? Check the idle speed and ignition timing (see chap. Electric motor).
