1. Regular and frequent enough the replacement of motor oil is one of the basic procedures of preventive maintenance vehicle lying within qualification of the average mechanic-fan. Over time, the engine oil is subject to aging, which is manifested in its gradual dilution and contamination, leading to premature wear of the internal components of the engine.
2. Despite the fact that some sources recommend to replace the oil filter only at every second change of motor oil, the drafters of this Guide believe that in view of the relative insignificance of the cost of an interchangeable component and the importance of its influence on the state of serviceability of functioning of the engine and the effectiveness of its impact, it makes sense to change the filter every time the oil is changed.
3. Make available to hand all the materials and tools necessary to perform an oil change and oil filter. And provide a sufficient number of rags and old newspapers to collect traces of spilled oil.
4. In order to ensure free access to the oil pan and oil filter lift the car winch, driving on the overpass or Poddomkratte and set on props.  | In no case do not perform any work underneath the car, backed only by the bumper or held in an elevated position just a jack! |
5. Climb under the vehicle and check the location of the drain plug of the oil pan and oil filter. Remember that the power unit and the components of the exhaust system during the time of the procedure will remain hot enough - Thoughtful security scheme of manipulation arms to avoid accidental contact with hot surfaces.
6. Ensure the horizontal arrangement of the car on props / lift. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature - hot oil has a higher turnover and better washes away the sludge and sediments. Use downtime to decompose in a convenient, all the necessary tools and materials. Turn off the engine and remove the cap from the filler neck motor oil.
7. Make sure of reliability of fixing the car in the raised position.
8. Carefully climb under the vehicle and install the drain capacity under the pallet boats, taking into account the fact that for the first time stream will flow through the hole with a decent pressure.  | 9. Trying not to touch the heated surfaces of the power unit and the components of the exhaust system, remove the drain plug from the bottom of the oil pan. Depending on the oil temperature at the final stage of eversion tube can use rubber gloves or abandon them. |
10. Allow the oil to flow freely into the vessel, appropriately adjusting the position of the latter as weakening the pressure of the jet. Check the drained oil for the presence of metal filings.
11. When the oil ceases to flow from the crankcase of the engine, clean the drain plug with a clean cloth - it can podlipnut small metal filings, which immediately lead to the contamination of fresh oil.
12. Wipe the pan around the drain plug, screw the cap in place and firmly tighten it with a wrench (if possible - torque).
13. Move the drain container under the oil filter.  | 14. With the help of one of the types of special wrench to loosen the filter. During eversion filter housing may be damaged, it does not matter in the case of a single-valued replacement (to invert the old filter you can just poke a large screwdriver - ready to collect spilled oil). |
15. Manually completely remove the filter unit, - remember that there continues to be some amount of oil, which should be released in a drain container. Make sure that the rubber gasket starred with filter, if not carefully separating it from the surface of the engine block.
16. Clean cloth to thoroughly clean the seating surface of the filter on the block. Once again, make sure that the old seal is not left on the engine, if necessary, use the scraper.
17. Make sure that the new filter matches by size taken from the car.  | 18. Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with a thin layer of clean motor oil. |
19. Replace the new filter to the engine, adhering of said arrow on the body rotation direction. To avoid damage to the gasket do not apply to tighten the oil filter, no keys. After the filter gasket pressed against the surface of the block, hold on it an additional 3/4 turn.
20. Remove from the vehicle all the tools and materials - try not to overturn the drain capacity. Lower the car to the ground.
21. Look for motor oil filler neck and remove the cover from it.
22. Pour the new oil into the receiving mouth of the engine. To minimize losses use funnel.
23. Wait a few minutes, allowing the oil to drain into the tray, and then check the level on the dipstick measurement (see. Section Check of levels of liquids). If the level is above the bottom mark, start the engine, circulate the fresh oil.
24. After giving the engine run for about a minute, stop it again, and immediately look under the car, checking for leaks through the drain plug and the full-flow filter. If necessary, slightly tighten allowing leakage component.
25. The circulation of engine oil (about 1 minute), the filling of the new oil filter. Now we need a second to check the oil level and if necessary top up even some of it, bringing the level to the upper mark on the blade probe (check is performed within a few minutes after switching off the engine - oil has time to drain out into the oil pan).
26. During the first few trips after the change motor oil, try as often as possible to check the level.
27. Drain the used oil from the engine secondary use is not subject to and should be handed over to a special collection point. In no case did not drain practicing on the ground or into drains - pour it into a sealed container and at the first opportunity turn in. |
