Checking oil pressure

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The oil pressure can be seen as a sign that the engine is in need of renovation. Oil pressure warning lamp is not among the diagnostic equipment that controls the state of the lubrication system, and only informs the driver of the dangerous reduction of the oil pressure. Even built into the instrument panel gauge of pressure of oil, despite the many details provide information, can be regarded only as a tool of information character. To obtain the oil pressure, which can then be compared with the requirements of the specifications necessary to use a mechanical (not electric!) Complete with a pressure gauge accurate tachometer.
2. Locate the sensor unit, the oil pressure switch.

3. Remove the gauge-switch and replace with a nozzle adapter to connect the mechanical pressure gauge. For sealing threaded connections, use the tips of sealing tape Teflon tape or ODM.
4. In accordance with the manufacturer's instructions to connect the engine to the precise tachometer.
5. Check the oil pressure when operating at speeds specified in the Specifications to warm up to normal operating temperature of the engine. Compare your results with the regulatory requirements. At excessively low pressure should assess the degree of wear of bearings and / or oil pump.
