Check, replacement and adjustment of a belt of the water pump and generator

Every 24,000 km Check the drive belt and adjust its tension. Inspect the belt along its length to reveal pozmozhnye cracks and wear, and turn the engine to check the belt surface in contact with the pulleys. Replace the defective belt.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For vehicles with power steering, air conditioning (compressor) should first remove their belts.
  2. Disconnect "weight" from the storage battery.
  3. Loosen the nuts and bolts of the generator and slide it to the engine block.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the alternator, water pump pulley and the crankshaft and remove the belt through the fan blades.
  5. Put on a new belt on the pulleys and stretch it by turning the bolt head with a ratchet in contact with the rail.
  6. Tighten the nuts and bolts of the generator and connect the battery negative terminal.
  7. Run the engine for a few minutes with all the connected electrical equipment, stop the engine and re-adjust the belt tension.
