Removal and installation of the water pump




Water Pump and fan with magnetic coupling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. On engines with a magnetic fan clutch remove the radiator.
  3. Loosen the adjustment screws and the generator, move it to the engine and release the drive belt on pulleys. If the alternator belt to be removed completely on models with power steering, air conditioning (compressor), you must first remove the straps respective units.
  4. On models with magnetic coupling to lock the fan pump and unscrew the central bolt, then remove the fan and remove the screws from the water pump pulley. Lock the pulley with a screwdriver inserted between the central shaft and the head of one of the bolts.
  5. On models with viscous fan clutch unscrew bolts and remove the fan and pulley from water pump.
  6. Loosen the screws and remove water pump from the housing on the front surface of the cylinder.
  7. Clean the mating surfaces of the water pump, and casing.
  8. Install in reverse order of removal. Put a new gasket and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Pour the liquid in the cooling system and tighten the belt.
