Repair of the water pump

In case of failure of the water pump is best to replace it entirely. However, we can restrict replacement of shaft seal and bearing.

Cross section of water pump

a = 25,8 - 26,2 (22,8 - 23,2) mm
b = 2,0 mm

1 - shaft and bearing (the figure shows a pump with electromagnetic fan, fan shaft with a viscous coupling is longer)
2 - Hub
3 - a casing

4 - sliding ring seals
5 - intermediate ring
6 - lock ring
7 - the impeller

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix the water pump in the segment of metal pipe, directing the impeller up; ?????? ???????????? ??????????. then, using a knockout of a soft metal, press out through the impeller shaft and the shaft bearings - the pump housing. Remove the impeller.
  2. Extract the sliding ring seal using a punch directed to the outer end of the pump.
  3. Remove the central and intermediate ring with the impeller.
  4. Clean the pump casing and impeller with kerosene and wipe nasuho.Imeyte in mind that the shaft and the bearing with the hub of the fan and sealing parts must be replaced by new ones.
  5. Fix the pump casing with the impeller pointing down, then put the mandrel (length of metal pipe) on the outer race of the bearing and press in a new shaft and bearing so that the raceway is flush with the end koprusa.
  6. Place the pump housing with the impeller pointing upwards, sealing paste and lubricate O-ring slot in the housing.
  7. With the mandrel (metal tube) zapressuyte annular seal at right angles into the housing.
  8. Place a new sealing ring to the thrust ring. Then lubricate the sealing ring paste for brake cylinder and press in the ring in the impeller beveled edge first.
  9. Clean the shaft slot in the impeller and the sealing surface, then put on a support shaft and press them on a par with the end of the impeller shaft. Check the size of "a" (see. Illustration Cross section of a water pump).
  10. Heat new fan hub to the blue (about 300 ? C). Clean the shaft and using a two-millimeter metal spacers install the hub. Place the hub on the mandrel (metal pipe), insert the shaft and press-fit it to the shim. Wait until the hub tightly embrace the shaft, then dip it in the hearth and remove the spacer.
